Church of the Savior

A Christ Centered, Community Focused, Neighborhood Church Serving the Riverside Area in the Heart of Wichita Since 1975

-Isaiah 64:8

About Us.

Church of the Savior is a non-denominational Christian church founded in 1975 in Wichita, Kansas. Members of our congregation come from many different denominations, weaving a tapestry of varied Christian traditions. Settled in the heart of the Riverside neighborhood community, Church of the Savior is a thriving body of creative, people-minded followers of Christ. We welcome anyone looking for a spiritual home and whole-heartedly believe you can find it here.

Our Focus

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are!
1 John 3:1

Our ultimate purpose is to worship and serve Jesus Christ together in love.

Church of the Savior is led by teams of pastors, preachers, worship leaders, trustees, and more – all volunteer members of our congregation.

A Home for All

Our building and our services are places of free and open communion, offered without reservation to all people seeking authentic connection with Christ’s transforming love.

Our church supports and actively participates in Christ’s work building His Kingdom, from the work inside our doors to the far reaches of the globe.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed are they who take refuge in Him!

Psalm 34:8

Join us in person for a chance to worship together through song, study of scripture, community prayer, and fellowship. Our Sunday School class offerings are for all-ages with groups for ages 0-3, PreK-5th grade, Middle/High School and adults.
Our worship service consists of congregational singing, scripture readings, prayers of the people, a “passing of the peace” fellowship time, a sermon on the day’s scriptures, sharing the eucharyst, a time of open worship, and children’s activities. Our typical Sunday service lasts about an hour and a half and is attended by around 60 people. All are welcome!

Children of all ages are welcome. We offer Godly Play classes during the service for children ages PreK-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade on alternating weeks as well as Nursery activities for children ages 0-5.

Remote via Zoom

If you can’t join us in person, we offer church online as well in unique ways. Our Zoom meetings open at 9:30 for a chance to meet and fellowship with other remote members.

You’ll need a zoom account to join the meeting with video, or you can join via phone for audio only. You’ll be able to converse with other remote members before and after the service, and even speak aloud with the in-person congregation during congregational prayer times and open worship. Of course you’ll also hear and see the music team, facilitator, and preacher as they lead the live service.

Vision and Mission

Our Vision

Our hope and desire is that we can continue to seek Christ’s will for our lives as individuals and as a church. He has gradually taught us more and more about how to listen and serve Him.

We are still very aware of our failures, but also are very aware that God continues to accept us and work among us. He assures us both that His love for us is real and that we can learn to follow more closely. By His grace, we will continue a long obedience in the same direction.

Our Mission

We are a Christ-centered church with the love of Jesus as the motivation for all that we do. Our desire is to encourage each individual to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through Biblical preaching and teaching, worship, prayer, and discipleship.

As we are transformed by God’s love, grace and power, and by using our diverse spiritual gifts, we will glorify Him to our community and the world through caring outreach and effective communication of the message of salvation.
